Intex Mega Chill 2 Review

Imagine this, you are in the pool fully absorbing the sunlight when suddenly you feel parched. It seems like a tedious task to leave your perfectly relaxing spot just to go in the house and grab a drink, and all you want is someone to serve you drinks in the middle of the water. And you think to yourself, is there a solution to this problem? Yes, there is!

The Intex Mega Chill II is the perfect companion for everyone who loves to hang out in the lake or go boating in the river.  This floating cooler is a must-have for every trip to the river, and not only will it keep your drinks cold, but you can also use it as dry storage. Let’s take a look at the design of the float.

Intex Mega Chill II, Inflatable Floating Cooler, 48″ X 38″

Design of the Intex Mega Chill 2

The Intex Mega Chill II is an inflatable float that measures approximately 48” x 38”. It is made of high-grade vinyl and you can inflate it using a mechanical pump easily and quickly. The float has an inner compartment that can fit a 48-quart cooler or 72 cans. This should be enough to sustain you through a long river ride. The Intex Mega Chill II also has 6 cup holders to securely hold your beverages, and 4 heavy-duty handles to easily push the float in and out of the water. Not only that, but the float also features the ‘connect and hold’ system to securely connect it to your tube or kayak in the river. This means you can always keep your drinks nearby

Intex Cooler Stability and storage

The tube is very sturdy and it can effortlessly withstand the rapid waters of a river without toppling or deflating. The tube can be inflated the night before the trip and you can simply carry it with you to the river or lake. The vinyl body also ensures that your drinks will stay cold for as long as possible, and as I have mentioned above, you can even fit in a 48-quart cooler if you want things to stay even cooler. It is recommended to put a few ice bags with your drinks and you can also freeze your drinks overnight to help them sustain the outside heat better. The Intex Mega Chill II can serve as a safe space for you in the river, where you can store your clothes and food to keep them dry and safe, as the lid will prevent water from getting in.

Pros

  • The sturdy design easily holds up in rough water and winds
  • There is ample storage capacity, and it easily fits 4 ice bags along with your drinks
  • It can fit a large cooler and dry storage including food
  • The tube can be conveniently inflated using a pump
  • The cup holders are a great addition and allow your hands to be free
  • The tube can be securely tied to your raft for optimum convenience

Cons

  • The Velcro on the lid can get loose, and sometimes the lid may not stay on very well
