Our Sufix Siege Review

Line Memory

Sufix siege is well known for its supple line quality while having almost no line memory. This is one of the best lines you could possibly use if you’re looking for low memory. It goes on your reel very easily and works just like it shouldn’t without any hassle.

Knot Strength

It’s also a pretty strong line and we have not had any issues with knot strength. If you tie your knots correctly you won’t have any problems with this line.

Casting Distance

Another area this fishing line excels in is its casting distance. It flows of your reel incredibly smoothly and when you combine this with a good baitcasting reel, your lures are going to cast much further than you may be used to.

You’re going to need a good reel with smooth bearings to get the most out of this, but this line will have you casting long distances with ease when you have the right setup.

Diameter

This line has a pretty solid strength to diameter ratio. The line strong without being overly thick. It does have a little bit of stretch, but it has just enough to help you land the fish when you need it. You can check out the strength to diameter in the chart below:

Abrasion-Resistance

Sufix Siege is incredibly abrasion resistant compared to your standard line. They claim its 15x stronger than other lines, and though we can’t really test this. Regardless, it is very abrasion resistant, so if you’re fishing around structure, debris, rocks, or other areas where your line might brush up against rough areas you can fish without having to worry about line breaks.

Sensitivity

This has about the same amount of sensitivity as your standard monofilament line. You can feel a good amount of bites when you work a lure with this line through the water. Again it does have a little bit of stretch but it’s one of the lower stretch monofilaments on the market.

Color Options

Smoke Green

Their smoke green color is a good option because it almost disappears if you’re fishing in murky waters.

Camo

The Sufix Siege Camo colors is another great option if your fishing line shy fish. It tends to work well with light tackle when fish crappie or carp.

Clear

The Siege clear color generally always works because it’s almost invisible in the water. Another excellent option for fish that are line shy.

Neon Tangerine

Their neon tangerine color is a hi-vis line that works well when your fishing around weeds or grassy areas where you need to see your line. We always like to carry a hi-vis line with us just in case, so this is a great choice.

Can You Use it As Leader?

Yes, some anglers like to use Sufix Siege as a leader attached to their main braid. It works for this no problem.

Is it Invisible Under Water?

Sort of. Sufix Siege is virtually invisible under water, but not quite as invisible as fluorocarbon line. It does have very low visibility when submerged though, which is good for not spooking fish away.

Does it Float?

Yes this is a line that works great for float fishing. It floats better than standard monofilament line.

How Does it Compare to Sufix Elite?

Many anglers are interested in comparing Sufix Siege vs. Sufix Elite. They both are very similar in terms of performance but Siege is a little more abrasion-resistant. Siege tends to be better for fishing round rocky areas and grassy areas, whereas Elite performs best if your fishing open waters.

How Does it Compare to Fluorocarbon?

Sufix Siege has more stretch than fluorocarbon, but it handles very much like fluorocarbon when fishing.

What is it Best Used For?

The Sufix Siege is can be used on both spinning gear and baitcasting gear, though it is much more commonly used with a spinning rod and reel. You can use it for just about every fish from bass, trout, catfish, walleye, crappie, panfish, and more. Use it like you would use any monofilament line.
