Appalachian Wildwaters

A river trip is a very special experience, and it is our pleasure at Appalachian Wildwaters to be able to share the wonders of our whitewater and the magnificence of our mountains with you.

We invite you to gather your family and friends or plan a family outing and come raft with us. Our most popular trip is the Lower New One-Day with its big roller coaster waves. It’s perfect for first timers as well as for seasoned rafters.

More and more families with youngsters 6 years old and up are discovering the Upper New, either as a day trip or a overnight stay. If you can spend an extra day, two, or three, or even a week, you can add other outdoor adventures by going mountain biking, horseback riding, and/or rock climbing. Just sign up for an Adventure Mini- Vacation and select your activities.

We have come a long way since we started in 1972 with two rafts and camping in an open field. Thanks to comments from our customers, we now have tents on platforms in addition to open field camping, a restaurant, a store with a wide selection of souvenirs and river gear, the Firecreek Tavern which serves as the check-in area in the morning and the après raft gathering spot in the evening, and a swimming pool and hot tub. We use a variety of boats on our rafting trips. Boat size and type are determined by river conditions, water level, and the customer’s desire. This year we are introducing newly developed RV sites just behind the putt-putt golf course nestled into the valley at the bottom of the hill.

Whatever your pleasure, we have a trip that’s waiting for you. Appalachian Wildwaters has been delivering excellence on and off whitewater for 35 years.

Hope to see you on the River!
